Evolving to Meet the Challenge of Omicron

Dear Bridgetown Baby Community,

As always, we can not predict the future but these days it feels especially uncertain. I am reaching out to share what we are doing to minimize risk related to the Omicron variant and still provide you with the postpartum care that you need, perhaps even more now than in "normal" times.

Evolving to Meet the Challenge of Omicron
  • Our team of Doulas and IBCLCs are all fully COVID-vaccinated (including boosters)

  • We wear N95 masks during our visits and ask that all clients do the same.

  • We provide rapid at-home antigen tests and support in accessing rapid PCR tests for our team if they develop any symptoms or have an exposure. Visits will be rescheduled until the test results are available. We ask that clients do the same.

  • We require Doulas and IBCLCs to receive a PCR test before returning to work after travel or a direct exposure.

  • Clients may provide more tests if they prefer the Doula/IBCLC test more often.

  • If anyone receives a positive test result (client, doula or IBCLC) we are going above and beyond the CDC guidelines for Health Care Personnel (see our updated guidelines) to protect the spread of infection.

  • We will remain in close communication.

If parenting responsibilities change for the Doulas/IBCLCs,  in order to keep everyone safe, we may have to rearrange schedules. If this needs to occur Camilla or I will reach out to discuss the situation and together come up with the best plan to support your family.

As we have learned over the last 22 months, flexibility and communication will guide us through whatever comes. Please don't hesitate to reach out to Camilla, our Family Care Director, if you have any questions or concerns.

We are grateful for your trust and will continue to do everything in our power to take care of your family.

Sincerely,

Meriah Fairchild
