Sabrina Gay

IBCLC | she/her

Sabrina knew from a young age that she would grow up to help people. She had always had a particular fascination with the human body and its incredible functions. After graduating high school she combined that reverence for helping people with her love of sports and studied exercise science at OSU, becoming a certified Athletic Trainer. She enjoyed helping injured athletes, young and old, recover and return back to the activities they enjoyed.

It wasn't until after the birth of her first child and struggles with breastfeeding that Sabrina first began working with postpartum families. Just before the birth of her second child, she finished certifying with an international organization becoming a volunteer peer support breastfeeding advocate in her community. Over 8 years she was a volunteer leader in communities in Utah, Idaho, Washington, and now Oregon.

Sabrina was comfortable in her volunteer capacity for many years until the summer of 2020. Being bombarded with studies and staggering statistics of poor outcomes of people who looked like her was the nudge she needed to change careers. She decided to make her work with pregnant and postpartum people more official in order to address the current maternal health crisis. The following year she became a birth doula and soon after completed her lactation education through PSU/OHSU making her a board certified lactation consultant.

In her practice, Sabrina strives for her clients to feel comfortable, heard, and have their choices about their lives and families respected. Sabrina understands that everyone has their own set of circumstances or obstacles to overcome, and she wants to come alongside to provide the necessary support for her clients to reach their goals.

Sabrina lives in Beaverton with her husband Sam and their 3 children. When she's not caring for families she is the classic sports mom bouncing from event to event with her active kids. Whenever possible, she loves to drag her family out into nature to identify native plants and even forage the local fare.
