Merriah Fairchild
Founder, Certified Postpartum Doula, IBCLC | she/her
“I could not have dreamed of a more perfect doula for our new family than Merriah. She brought knowledge, experience, levity and ease to our family.”
— Emily P., first time mother
Merriah was born in the middle of winter next to the warm wood stove of her parents’ home. She grew up hearing equally warm stories about childbirth and parenthood and expected a smooth transition into her own life as a mother. Nothing could have surprised her more than how overwhelmed she felt after the births of her two daughters, three years apart. The support of family and friends were key to Merriah’s ability to manage her changing world and embrace the joys of motherhood the way her own mother had. This personal experience inspired Merriah to found Bridgetown Baby.
Merriah is passionate about caring for the whole family. She knows first-hand that simple deeds such as a hot breakfast or answering a burning question can make all the difference for a new parent, and that when families receive support in the early days, they grow stronger sooner.
Merriah sees her role as a bridge to help parents build strength and confidence in their new roles. She loves combining her expertise as a lactation consultant and postpartum doula to help families realize their feeding goals while feeling taken care of physically and emotionally.
Merriah is passionate about being a mom-trepreneur, creating a sustainable career for doulas, supporting women-owned businesses, and modeling those values for her daughters.
In her free time, she enjoys playing in the dirt with her bunnies Ruth and Moon, sewing with her daughters, and venturing out on early morning runs.
