“Our baby lost a little too much weight from birth and as first time parents it was stressful to hear! Melissa came over the SAME day and helped create a plan to get his weight up and maintain my supply as we figured out what was going on. She truly made breastfeeding possible for our family and went above and beyond to help us.”

What is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)?
Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) work as members of the perinatal care team as specialists in human lactation and infant feeding. IBCLCs assist families to define and reach their goals for feeding their babies. In addition to preparation and support for bodyfeeding (breastfeeding, chestfeeding, and human milk pumping), IBCLCs teach and support families with bottle feeding, formula use, and other strategies for supplementation.
IBCLCs are credentialed internationally by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners, and must meet strict initial training and ongoing continuing education requirements to maintain their title. In Oregon State, Lactation Consultants must carry the IBCLC credential and a healthcare license issued by the Oregon Health Authority.
Bridgetown Baby IBCLCs are licensed Doula Lactation Consultants committed to supporting every unique family with respect, empathy, and clinical excellence.
