Position Overview

Bridgetown Baby is Portland’s premier postpartum care group. Bridgetown Baby seamlessly combines the expertise of postpartum doulas and lactation consultants to provide families with wrap-around postpartum care so they can ease into their new life with strength and confidence. 

Bridgetown Baby’s volume of lactation clients is increasing and we are seeking experienced Lactation Consultants to work as independent contractors caring for families in home, as well as via telehealth. The person in this role will have the first opportunity to work with our clients in Vancouver WA, and also be offered shifts in other geographies as needed.

Pay is per visit. Each client is a new contract/project.

Scope of Work

  • Care for expectant and new parents and infants by providing excellent in-home and telehealth lactation support services

  • Practice within the scope and professional conduct guidelines established by IBLCE and Oregon Health Authority

  • Provide non-judgmental and evidence-informed care and information to families

  • Make appropriate referrals for care/services

Requirements

  • Current IBCLC certification, with two years experience providing in-home lactation care

  • Current Oregon State Lactation Consultant license

  • Current CPR Certification/First Aid Certification

  • Current professional malpractice insurance

  • Follow safe COVID practices (as outlined in the Bridgetown Baby COVID-19 Safety Protocol for In-Home Lactation Visits)

  • Must be vaccinated against Covid-19, DTaP, Hepatitis A & B, MMR

Strongly Preferred

  • Willingness to obtain CAQH number

  • Willingness to work with (TLN) The Lactation Network clients

  • Willingness to go above and beyond to provide high-quality, non-judgemental, evidence-based, lactation and postpartum care.

  • Excellent communication skills, cooperation, and flexibility.

  • Life-long learner committed to self-improvement and social justice.
