Our Evolving Commitment to COVID-19 Safety
We are so grateful that we have been able to safely serve more than 150 families throughout 2020 and 2021.
Alongside all of you, we have kept abreast of changing COVID-19 guidelines, modifying our practices over the last 18 months to best safeguard the health of the families we support, the health of our growing team, and the health of the community at large.
Our continuing commitment to health and safety includes:
An abundance of caution
Masking, extra sanitizing of household surfaces, strict protocols for cleaning and sanitizing bottle parts, breast pump attachments, and other feeding items.
Open and transparent communication
If a doula is showing any signs of illness, we will communicate accordingly and offer a doula substitute when available; if clients are experiencing signs or symptoms of illness, we will reschedule visits as appropriate.
Limiting exposure and risk
Open dialogue about exposure and risk tolerance to support informed decision-making; virtual offerings including virtual parent support groups, telehealth lactation visits, and online classes to expand knowledge while decreasing risk.
Specialized care for at-risk infants
Priority support for families with medically fragile babies and younger neonates; expertise in specialized feeding plans for NICU babies being released home early to shorten exposure in the NICU.
Belief in science
All of the members of our team are vaccinated against COVID-19. Read our COVID-19 best practices, including our current vaccination policy, here.
Continued monitoring of public health findings and recommendations
Our protocols will continue to evolve as public health guidelines change, so we can ensure that we are supporting families as safely as possible.
As always - and even more so in the age of COVID - we are deeply honored to be welcomed into your families’ circles. Your trust in us, at this most important and vulnerable time in your lives, means the world.
Sincerely,
Merriah Fairchild
