Camilla Rae Award Winner Announced
We are delighted to announce the winner of Bridgetown Baby’s first annual Camilla Rae Award: Whitney Handrich, Certified Postpartum Doula, LMT.
After reviewing nominations from the Bridgetown Baby team, the leadership team chose Whitney for a number of reasons:
Whitney is deeply loved by her clients and provides thoughtful, comprehensive care to all her families.
Whitney is a great communicator and collaborator with other postpartum doulas and IBCLCs on the Bridgetown Baby team.
Whitney nurtures our team by showing up with authenticity and compassion at various events (and recruiting her friends to join as well).
Whitney gives generously to our community in many ways including volunteering with families in need of doula care and organizing supplies for asylum seekers and refugee families in Portland through the Immigrant Mutual Aid Society.
Whitney embodies our core values and is a beautiful example of what we all strive to be as Bridgetown Baby staff and human beings. In her three years with Bridgetown Baby, she has brought endless light, laughter and comfort to everyone she meets, and we love her very much.
The Camilla Rae Award was established to honor Camilla Rae, a full spectrum doula and sleep consultant who has worked with Bridgetown Baby since almost the very beginning and cared for hundreds of families while helping to grow Bridgetown Baby into the organization we have today.
The Camilla Rae Award is awarded annually, and candidates are nominated by the Bridgetown Baby team of postpartum doulas and lactation consultants. Award winners deeply embody the Bridgetown Baby core values: Empathy; Patience; Social Justice; Love; Connection; Respect; and, Integrity.
