When Bridgetown Baby started as a twinkle in the eye of founder Merriah Fairchild, it was hard to imagine that, from a tiny team of 3 practitioners would blossom a team of 31 certified postpartum doulas and International Board Certified Lactation Consultants in just a few years’ time. From those baby steps in 2014 to postpartum doulas to now we’re grateful for the commitment and professionalism of this ever-evolving team - it allows us to serve our community of clients and work to shift our broader culture’s understanding of what it is to become family.
With this amazing team, we’re on track to have our busiest year yet - here are some of our stats, projects and proud moments for 2022 thus far:
Grew our team from 22 to 31
Cared for 43 doula families and 42 lactation families - and counting!
Supported over 500 families since 2014
Raised $3300 to care for teen parents in foster care
Joined insurance networks for lactation coverage with Aetna, Blue Cross and Cigna.
Continued complementary weekly Nurturing Circle parent support group
Began a free monthly Infertility/Loss support group
Continued exploration and growth through our Social Justice Study Group for doulas and IBCLCs
