Anne Heaps | she/her

Certified Postpartum Doula, Newborn Care Specialist, Lactation Educator

“Anne…is so knowledgeable, kind, proactive, and reliable. We’re expecting our second in November, and we’re seriously worried about finding her replacement.”

— Bob S, parent of one

Anne has gravitated toward babies since she can remember. One of her earliest memories involves sneaking out of Sunday school into the church nursery, convincing the adults to let her stay by soothing disgruntled babies. When Anne became an infant-focused nanny fresh out of college, she fell in love with caring for the whole family. She saw firsthand how difficult the modern family is to balance: the lack of proximity to familial support, the balance of two parents working, the cost of outside care, and the societal pressure to do it all with gratitude and grace.

Living with her brother and sister-in-law at the time they had their first child proved to be a pivotal moment in the journey to becoming a postpartum doula. Unknowingly, she took on the role of postpartum doula for their family, going as far as holding her nephew upside down on his mother’s breast during a terrible episode of mastitis. Upon learning about postpartum doula work several years later, Anne immediately shifted her focus from career nannying and dove head first into all things newborn and postpartum.

Anne is a Certified Postpartum Doula, Newborn Care Specialist, Lactation Educator, and unofficial queen of relieving baby gas. Anne’s goal as your postpartum doula is to be ‘pure support’ - an extra set of hands, a wealth of knowledge, a listening ear, someone to go down a Google rabbit hole for you. In her free time, Anne loves going on roadtrips, hiking, and camping with her dog Chase (a retired Guide Dog for the Blind who belonged to her late father), making pottery, and spending as many holidays a year as she can with her nieces and nephew across the country.
