Minimizing Coronavirus Risk for Your Families and Ours
Dear Bridgetown Baby Community -
We are all thinking about the novel coronavirus (respiratory illness) called COVID-19, so I wanted to reach out and update you on what we are doing at Bridgetown Baby to safeguard health for everyone.
At Bridgetown Baby, we take the risk of spreading illness seriously, and we prioritize the health of the families we serve and the health of our doulas above all else.
Although the populations most at risk of COVID-19 infection are the elderly and those with compromised health, and there is no evidence that pregnant people or infants are at a greater risk, during this time of increased concern we are reaffirming our team’s commitment to our existing illness policy and health protocols.
Our Approach:
We are taking an abundance of caution.
If a doula is showing any signs of illness, we will not send them to a scheduled visit and will communicate accordingly.
Please contact us if anyone in your home is sick, to help us keep our doulas healthy.
We will reschedule visits should your doula(s) or your family become sick and scheduled visits cannot be completed as planned.
We will take each situation case by case to meet families’ needs as best we can.
We will prioritize support for the families with the youngest and most medically fragile babies.
Doulas will provide additional sanitizing of hard/high touch surfaces in clients’ homes (door knobs, faucets, handles, etc.), with products clients provide.
We will continue to monitor public health findings and recommendations, and will keep you updated with any changes to our approach.
We’ve included, below, additional information and links to sources for ongoing updates. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any concerns at this time.
It is the greatest honor and privilege to care for your family. Thank you for the opportunity and for your flexibility as we navigate this together as a community.
Sincerely,
Merriah Fairchild
